DER TOTENTANZ

Der totentanz is a strong poem by J.W. Goethe, Dertotentanz is a motif present in a series of frescoes in many medieval churches; Dertotentanz in German means: The dance of death. It is a strongconcept which indicates that there will be one moment,the moment of our death when everyone will be back atthe same level. We all have the same dignity, the same courage and fear, the same power, the same hunger; no matter who is our dad, no matter how brave or coward weare... we can be sheep or lions, we can have have money or not, we can be part of or be against the system, we can be clever or idiots, we will just be all together dancing at the same sound, the sound of the death itself...Dertotentanz is a band born to follow this concept. We cansucceed or not but what is important is that we are all fighting; fighting many small and huge battles all of themare generated by one common disease: moral laxity of humankind.In fact our brothers and sisters are letting someone else making decisions for their own lives, someone is slowly andquietly pushing  into the oblivion the good old dream of freedom which is sleeping inside our souls. Our aim is not to run a revolution, it is not to destroy a system with violence or to support or fight against a political party. We've got no flag, no countries, we've got no weapons, we've got no political power nor the economic one, no fame or mediapower and we lack of so many other things that  it would be rather difficult and practically impossible to list all of them. However we’ve got one thing that people sometimes forget to have:we got brains... What we are doing then, is trying to skip some places in this long queue in order to break it and persuade more people to come up with their own independent systems and do the same as we are
trying to do. We are not sure our effort will be successful, but it doesn't matter, what matters is trying and trying again so one day, whatever will happened, when we will be dancing with the death we will be aware of what we have done in our life and  not regretting what we could have done.

Der Totentanz è una poesia di J.W. Goethe ed anche un motivo, presente in una serie di affreschi, di alcune chiese medievali. Der Totentanz in italiano, significa la danza della morte. Questo è un concetto forte, il quale indica, che ci sarà un momento, il momento della nostra morte, in cui tutti torneremo allo stesso livello. Abbiamo tutti la stessa dignità, lo stesso coraggio e la paura, lo stesso potere, la stessa fame, non importa chi siano le persone che ci hanno messo al mondo, non importa quanto coraggiosi o vigliacchi noi siamo, possiamo essere pecore o leoni, possiamo avere i soldi o meno, possiamo essere parte o essere contro il sistema, possiamo essere intelligenti o idioti, ma ci ritroveremo tutti insieme, un giorno, a ballare allo stesso suono, il suono della morte stessa. Der Totentanz, è una band nata per seguire questo concetto. Possiamo riuscirci o meno, ma ciò che è importante è che: tutti stiamo combattendo; combattendo chi piccole, chi grandi battaglie, tutte generate dalla stessa comune malattia: il lassismo morale del genere umano. Alcuni di noi, i nostri fratelli, le nostre sorelle, stanno tralasciando di prendere decisioni incaricando qualcun'altro per loro conto. Qualcuno sta, lentamente e silenziosamente, spingendo nel dimenticatoio il buono e vecchio sogno di libertà che si sta assopendo dentro le nostre anime. Il nostro obiettivo, non è quello di eseguire una rivoluzione, non è quello di distruggere un sistema con la violenza, o di sostegno, o di lotta contro un partito politico. Non abbiamo nessuna bandiera, non apparteniamo a nessun paese, non abbiamo nessuna arma, nè un potere politico, nè uno economico, non
la fama o il potere mediatico, tuttavia, abbiamo una cosa che la gente dimentica di avere: abbiamo un cervello...Quello che stiamo facendo, allora, è cercare di saltare alcuni punti di questa lunga coda al fine di romperli e persuadere la maggior parte delle persone a  venir fuori con i propri sistemi indipendenti. Non sappiamo e non siamo sicuri del fatto che il nostro sforzo avrà successo, ma non importa, ciò che conta è provare e riprovare, con la speranza che un giorno, qualsiasi cosa accada, quando danzeremo con la morte, saremo coscienti e consapevoli di ciò che abbiamo fatto nella nostra vita, senza rimpiangere nulla.
